Rahul Gandhi remembers father
NDTV Correspondent
Tuesday, August 19, 2008, (New Delhi)
On the eve of Rajiv Gandhi's birthday, his son Rahul Gandhi had some interesting anecdotes to share about his father.
Rahul who doesn't ordinarily make impromptu speeches got a tad emotional on Tuesday when his father's one-time aide Mani Shankar Aiyar spoke about the former prime minister.
Releasing a book on Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul remembered a special moment with his father.
"One day I asked him, 'papa why don't you leave this (politics). You always wanted to become a pilot'. He said 'no'. 'I never thought of leaving it because I believe in the people of India," said Rahul Gandhi.
Those words of his father Rahul said is what keeps him going in politics.
