Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda on Tuesday said he would seek the trust vote in the Assembly on August 25 and try to mend fences with JMM supremo Shibu Soren whose party explored the possibilities of forming an alternative government.

The fresh bout of political uncertainty in the mineral-rich state triggered claims and counter claims of support with embattled Koda saying he has the numbers to prove his majority.

Soren said he had the required backing to vote out the coalition government reduced to a minority after the 17-member JMM withdrew support on Sunday.

The scene of political activities in the state is likely to shift to New Delhi with both Koda and Soren planning to go there to lobby for support.
